MARKHAM, ON – The Markham Royals are excited to announce the signing of goaltender Peter Chlebowski for the 2026-27 OJHL season.
Chlebowski joins the Royals with an impressive development background and experience at the Ontario Hockey League level with the Brampton Steelheads. The 6-foot-2, 18 year old Goaltender from Schiller Park, Illinois was selected by Brampton in the 10th round, 195th overall, of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection and later signed an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the club.
Prior to making the jump to the OHL, Chlebowski developed with Team Illinois 16U AAA, where his play earned him an opportunity to compete at the USA Hockey National Development Camp, placing him among a select group of top American players in his age group.
The Royals believe Chlebowski brings a combination of size, athleticism and high-level experience that will add to the club’s already impressive goaltending lead by Jacob Ceranic and Gabriel Cabone.
“Peter is a tremendous addition for our hockey club,” said Royals General Manager J.C Larocque. “Peter gives us another player who can have a real impact on the outcome of games, he competes hard, stays composed under pressure and gives the group confidence in front of him. We have high expectations for Peter, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish in a Royals jersey.”
Chlebowski becomes the latest addition to a new-look Royals roster as the organization continues building toward the 2026-27 season under its new management and coaching staff.
