Ahead of the January 10th trade deadline in the Canadian Junior Hockey League umbrella, the Markham Royals have announced a trade with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens.

The Royals will receive defenceman Lucas Preiano and goaltender Noah Caballero from the Jr. Canadiens, along with a Player Development Fee.

Preiano, 18, has played 26 games in his rookie season with the Jr. Canadiens, scoring five points. Caballero, 19, was acquired from the Camrose Kodiaks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League as part of the deal, having played nine games this season.

Going back the other way is goaltender Sebastian Monaco. Monaco, 19, played 59 games for the Royals over the last two seasons, posting a 22-27-5 record.

We welcome Lucas and Noah to the organization and wish Sebastian all the best with the Jr. Canadiens!
