The Markham Royals look to shake off three tough losses over the past week with a pair of games against local rivals this weekend.
Starting at home on Friday night, they take on the Stouffville Spirit for the second time this season. The first matchup between the teams was a weekday matinee in Stouffville, which the Spirit won by a decisive 7-0 score. Markham will no doubt be looking for revenge on home ice. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. at Markham Centennial Centre.
On Sunday night, the Royals will head to Pickering to take on the Panthers. This will be the third of four games against the Panthers, and an opportunity for Markham to clinch the season series. Previously, the Royals defeated Pickering at home 5-2 on September 20th, and 3-1 in Pickering on November 22nd. Andrew Lanni scored the game-winning goal in the most recent matchup, with Julian Mandarino and Owen Fergusson also notching tallies.
Puck drop for Sunday’s game is at 7:30 p.m. at Chestnut Hill Recreational Complex in Pickering.
