Losing Streak Continues in Georgetown
It was a tough night at the rink for the Royals on Wednesday as the Georgetown Raiders extended the team’s losing streak to seven games, ending in a 10-2 final score. A five-goal explosion for Georgetown set the tone early, and ultimately put the game out of reach. Markham’s two goals were both moments of positivity, however, as Nicholas Ferrante’s first-period tally marked his first in the OJHL, and William Godfrey’s third-period goal tied his career-high just ten games into the season.
Back-To-Back Ahead This Weekend
The Royals have two opportunities to turn the tides this weekend, starting today against the Wellington Dukes. The two teams have already faced off once this year, with Wellington taking the first game in their rink by an 8-1 score. Julian Mandarino scored the lone goal for Markham.
On Saturday, the Royals will travel to Aurora to take on the Tigers for the first time this year. The two teams faced each other four times last year, with the Royals winning three. In Markham’s one game in Aurora, the team cruised to a 7-1 victory. They’ll be looking to find the same success this
