The storied hockey rivalry between Markham and Stouffville is heating up again, all in support of Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH).
The Stouffville Spirit and Markham Royals Jr. A hockey clubs will play each other four times this year during the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s regular season:
- Thursday, Oct. 9. 7:30 p.m., Stouffville Arena
- Friday, Nov. 21, 7:30 p.m., Markham Centennial Community Centre
- Thursday, Dec. 18, 3:30 p.m., Stouffville Arena
- Friday, Feb. 27, 7:30 p.m., Markham Centennial Community Centre
The winner of the series will be presented the Markham Stouffville Cup, a new trophy furnished by the MSH Foundation. (In the event of a tie, the OJHL’s tie-breaking process will determine the winner.)
“Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital is the lifeline that connects Markham and Stouffville, and the Foundation is thrilled to be included in this special tradition shared between our communities,” says Suzette Strong, CEO, MSH Foundation. “No matter which team takes the cup in the end, what truly counts is the spirit of the game, and the spirit of giving. Together, our communities will always come out on top.”
MSH Foundation team will be on site at the October 9 game with MSH Foundation 50/50 tickets available for purchase. Grand prize draw is on October 24 with a guaranteed grand prize of $10,000.
The OJHL is fully endorsing the series.
