The Markham Royals are proud to announce the first group of players to join the organization ahead of the 2026–27 season. This inaugural signing class represents the beginning of a new era for Royals hockey, bringing together a talented group of young athletes from some of Ontario’s top minor hockey and junior development programs.
The Royals are excited to welcome Josh Lewis (Vaughan Kings U18 AAA), Ryan Ungerman (Toronto Nationals U18 AAA), Kingston Larocque (Toronto Nationals U16 AAA), Jacob Ceranic (St. Catharines Falcons GOJHL), Finn Gilbert (Ridley College CAHS), and Charlie Annett (Oakville Rangers U16 AAA) to the organization.
Each player brings a unique combination of skill, character, and competitiveness that reflects the culture the Royals are committed to building. From proven AAA performers to junior experience and strong developmental backgrounds, this group provides a solid foundation as the franchise prepares for its inaugural season.
“Our goal from day one has been to assemble a team that competes with pride, works relentlessly, and represents the Markham community the right way,” said General Manager J.C Larocque. “We’re thrilled to welcome these young men to the Royals family and look forward to helping them continue their development both on and off the ice.”
These signings mark the first step in building a competitive roster, with additional player announcements expected throughout the offseason. The Markham Royals remain committed to providing an environment where players can develop, compete at a high level, and take the next step in their hockey careers.
Welcome to the Royals, gentlemen. #FearTheCrown
